Badlands is officially out as of today. Same spot at Ellsworth and Ocotillo, new name now: Queen Creek Public House.

They're taking about a week to fix the place up and freshen it, then they're reopening. And the timing's not random, they're coming back right around the 4th.

So here's what's coming. Giveaways, koozies, stickers, some 4th of July swag, drink specials, the whole thing. Worth swinging by for.

The part I think people will actually care about is the food direction. Here's how they put it: "From stacked burgers and crispy wings to Americana comfort-food favorites, our new menu delivers the quality and portions you deserve at prices that make sense."

And that last part is kinda the whole thing for me. Quality and portions without the crazy bill. Downtown's filling up with new spots fast, so a place leaning into value instead of just being trendy, I'm into that.

Plus honestly it's cool to see a local spot reinvent itself instead of just closing up. That corner keeps getting better and this is part of it.
