Hello friends, neighbors and guests. We hope you all weathered the storm safely and warmly, have access to everything you need, and found some fun and joy in the wild beauty of it all.
We are evaluating the impact of this storm as not just spectacle and inconvenience, but as a real threat to our ability to do business. The primary remaining issue is that as of post time, there’s still a City-wide parking ban in place with no defined end-time, after it’s lifted there will still be very limited usable parking, and many people’s attitudes about elective travel in these conditions are understandably “the less, the better”. Our main concern is how this will affect our team‘s ability to work and make money.
And so we are proactively telling you how you can help if you’d like to…
1 We’re offering takeout starting Friday! More detail to follow. We will start with Friday and Saturday availability. If you order, you can momentarily pull into our lot and throw your hazards on so you can come in and grab it, or call us at 401.227.9300 when you pull in, and we’ll run it out to you. If you can tip as if you’re dining in, please do.
2 Take a rideshare like Uber or Lyft, and then parking (and drinking) are a non-issue.
3 Once the parking ban is lifted, put on your finest snow boots and park on Broadway then walk in to the neighborhood. It’ll only take you a few minutes and it’s a guaranteed good time.
4 If you’re driving and meeting friends, carpool.
5 Our generous friends and neighbors at Federal Hill House at 9 Courtland Street are allowing us to use their parking lot during our business hours. We are very grateful for this, but in sharing that availability with you, we’re also being mindful that there are only so many spaces there.
While our location in the middle of the neighborhood with narrower streets and less thorough plowing makes us uniquely susceptible to these issues, we’re very aware that many of our industry colleagues are dealing with similar challenges right now. The best thing you can do is spend your time and money at your favorite independent businesses. Everybody can help.
Thanks for reading and we hope to see you this weekend!
