From our kitchen to the pages of Edible Rhody 🍂

Executive Chef Andres Rivera shares his Sancocho Cottage Pie in the Fall Issue — a recipe inspired by two of his favorite comfort foods growing up.

Part cottage pie, part Puerto Rican sancocho, Chef Andres brings the two together with seasoned beef, sofrito, fall root vegetables, squash and corn, all tucked beneath a layer of golden, crispy polenta.

A little Rhode Island harvest, a little taste of home, and exactly what we want to be eating this time of year.

This season’s cookie skillet is S’mores-inspired- a graham chocolate chip cookie, coffee ice cream, and a perfectly gooey vanilla bean marshmallow sauce.⁠

And for our crème brûlée connoisseurs, Apple Butter Cheesecake Crème Brûlée with a candied oat crumb.⁠

Both are new creations from our Pastry Chef, AK Burley-O’Hagan, who makes every one of our treats by hand. From our house ice cream flavors to the apple butter and marshmallow sauce, every element on our dessert menu is made in-house and made with love.⁠

Haus of Codec is Providence’s first and only transitional housing and emergency shelter organization dedicated specifically to transition-aged youth and LGBTQIA+ or BIPOC young adults experiencing homelessness. Haus of Codec provides safe, affirming spaces for these young adults and also fosters the community by hosting events, art markets, and educational programming.⁠
