When we announced our closing due to the faltering health of our business partner Robert, we certainly hoped we would have more time to spend together. Robert was a wonderful and generous man. A fiercely intelligent, experienced and gentle leader who mentored many of us at Gosport Tavern. He will be greatly missed.

It has been an amazing year and a half(ish) with Chef Maleik at the helm.

Since the doors opened Gosport Tavern has always fostered such a fun and community based atmosphere.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Gosport Tavern is closing after 11 next Saturday June 22, 2024.

Health issues among our ownership necessitated the sale of the building and will result in our closure. But our hearts are full of appreciation for our loyal customers, the Olde Towne Business Association and the City of Portsmouth for the past 11 years.

Please come see us in the next 10 days for one last meal or beer to say cheers & goodbye.

Our sister restaurants Still Worldly Eclectic Tapas in Olde Towne and The Public House in Ghent will continue to serve wonderful food and spirits with many members of the Gosport Staff.
