After 4 amazing years, I will be leaving Waterstone Gallery. I am beyond grateful to all of the phenomenal artists who have endlessly encouraged me and always offered so much wisdom and kindness. At the gallery I have learned so much about running an art business and marketing. The experience of hosting events, the freedom to create whatever show I wanted, and speaking to gallery patrons one on one has been invaluable.
Like many other working single moms out there, I know I have a finite amount of energy and resources. After much back and forth, I finally sat down this weekend and prioritized my time and financial resources. I decided that focusing on my design and construction business will better serve me and my family at this time. I promise you and myself, that I won't stop painting and you could never stop me from dreaming up new show ideas. In 5 or 10 years, when my kids are more self sufficient I have no doubt there will be an art explosion in my studio.
Until then, I'll teach classes a few times a year, continue to take commissions and follow all of your amazing words and work on social media and continue to be inspired- and if given the opportunity, I'll never turn down collaborating on a story telling/ art event.
Thank you to all of you who have come out to support my shows and openings at Waterstone and to all of you behind the scenes helping me make my latest dreams reality.
Stay tuned....
