Wednesday, September 30th 🎶 Crys Matthews brings a bold blend of Americana, folk, country, and blues to the room… music steeped in tradition, sharpened by lived experience, and driven by purpose.

Crys Matthews
Named 2025 Artist of the Year by the International Folk Music Awards, Matthews is one of the most powerful voices in a new generation of songwriters. Raised in North Carolina and now based in Nashville, she writes from the intersections of Southern identity and belonging with a voice that is warm, fearless, and deeply rooted.

Lyrical, melodic chamber-pop with a healthy dose of humor, uplift, and inclusivity.

Vibrant Chamber-Folk-Pop singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and activist Rachael Sage is on tour celebrating her new acoustic album "Under My Canopy". In addition to being a six-time Independent Music Award-winning musician and producer, Sage is also a John Lennon Contest Grand Prize winner who has performed at Edinburgh Fringe & SXSW, and toured globally from Japan to Berlin. Sunday, September 13th 🎶 The Acoustic Groove Experience brings an almost-acoustic power trio into the room… fretless bass, fingerstyle guitar, and percussion pushing far beyond what you might expect from three instruments.

Michael Manring
One of the great fretless bass players in the instrument’s history, Manring has spent more than 40 years expanding its possibilities. His collaborators include Michael Hedges, Suzanne Ciani, Henry Kaiser, John Gorka, and Thomas Dolby, along with a long tenure as house bassist for Windham Hill Records.

Tony Kaltenberg
A distinctive fingerstyle guitarist whose mesmerizing approach blends tapping, percussion, and intricate fingerstyle technique. Celebrated in the US and Europe, he also composes much of the trio’s instrumental music.

Jarrod Kaplan
A force of nature on percussion whose credits include String Cheese Incident, California Guitar Trio, Trillian Green, and Cirque du Soleil… bringing djembe, cymbals, anklets, and an entire world of texture into the groove.

Three extraordinary instrumentalists creating something rhythmic, adventurous, and genuinely transportive.

Monthly songwriter showcase hosted by Kyle J. Glenn, presented in partnership with Artichoke Music and Portland Songwriters Guild.

The Bridge is a monthly songwriter showcase that helps artists build connections in Portland’s music scene while giving audiences a deeper look into the stories and creative process behind each song through thoughtful onstage interviews. Designed for artists who are new to songwriting, new to performing, returning to the stage, or new to Portland, The Bridge offers a welcoming listening-room environment where songwriters can share original music and connect with an attentive audience.

The Bridge offers audiences a chance to discover emerging songwriters in an intimate setting built for listening.

For those who already know and support the artists, it is also an opportunity to hear their work in a quieter, more intentional room where lyrics land, dynamics breathe and the songs can be experienced fully.

The evening runs approximately two hours and includes a short intermission.

The Bridge exists to help songwriters cross from open mics into listening room performances. The Bridge is for emerging artists who are new to songwriting, new to performing, returning to the stage, or new to Portland.

Artists share well developed original songs in a supportive but focused setting alongside two other writers. The format encourages connection between artists and audience while keeping the music at the center of the evening.

Artists receive:

A base performance honorarium
Shared tips from the evening
Full merchandise sales
High quality video footage of their performance

Emerson Parker

Hi! I'm Emerson Parker, a perpetually heartbroken girl singing pop ballads and upbeat tragedies on the piano. I find meaning in everyday observations and confess my reflections thinking about love through song. Can’t wait to play for you all!

winsom

winsom (Emily Teixeira) is a singer-songwriter and producer making alt-pop from her home in Portland, OR. Originally from Northern California, she studied voice and music production at Berklee College of Music before returning home to the West Coast. Her songs combine elements of indie rock, folk, and pop with unguarded lyrics about trying to understand yourself and the world. She invites listeners to join her in her (metaphorical) living room, feel your feelings, and stay awhile.

Brent Calderwood

Brent Calderwood is a singer-songwriter from San Francisco who’s lived in Portland since 2023, where he’s returned after a ten-year hiatus to performing his guitar- and piano-based songs, influenced by indie-folk, Americana, and the American Songbook.
