Here’s one of the funnest questions from last week’s pub quiz, from the hilarious show Trailer Park Boys. A running joke is that Julian always has something in his hand, whether he is just chilling with his buds or emerging from a freshly wrecked car which has completely rolled over…what is it? And here we see the answer…a tumbler of rum and Coke, with ice still clinking in the glass (though of course, teams didn’t have to be as specific as naming the cocktail). I’m more of a Letterkenny gal myself, but this s**t is hilarious! What’s your favorite Canadian show? Answer in the comments or tell me at The Goodfoot tomorrow; quizzery at 6!

One of the unique features of Bare Bones is our ability to engage with passersby on the street, especially when the garage door is open. For example, it’s not unusual that a bike event blasting great music rolls by; we always pause the game to cheer them on. A couple of weeks ago while I was shouting out our bartenders, a group of people walking by stopped to join in the enthusiastic ovation. Whether pedestrians or pedallers, Portlanders love to support each other! Let’s keep the good cheer going at trivia tonight at 7, both at Bare Bones and Thunderbird Bar on Mississippi.

Dadd’s Addition strikes again! Last week at Dot's Cafe, they took the gold for knowing the most about local breweries, slave revolts, sports cars, human bones, and songs performed in movies. A question that remained unanswered after I handed out some bonus prizes (including the Heart of the Beast swag these men are wearing) is: “Who wore it best!” Feel free to chime in at trivia tonight, 7:00!

I’m not gonna lie to you…there is no sensational halftime show planned for trivia tonight, nor any other pub quiz in the near future. That being said, we are going to start taking “vice breaks” at Thunderbird Bar since we sit on the (VERY well heated!) patio so that y’all can go inside at halftime to grab a drink, hit the head, and debrief about the first three rounds. As for The Snug PDX, there was already a smoke break built in for y’all to step outside and enjoy your to***co vice. Kickoff for both venues at 7:00!

One of my favorite questions to write is Show Me The Lie (especially when it involves my favorite city: Portland!). I give you three truths and a lie, and you suss out the option that I made up with my damn lying brain! Darkness falls across the land; the Halloween hour is close at hand…I’m gonna terrorize y’all’s neighborhood the last week of October! Each year, Eerie Queries challenges your knowledge of spooky cinema, creepy literature, morbid music, Halloween culture and history, and really anything to do with the macabre. This is always a fun time for me to revisit horror classics and delve into new gloom! Get into the spirit at Classic Triviology tonight at Dot's Cafe, 7pm.

Of all of my wonderful Triviology venues, you get the most bang for your buck at Thunderbird Bar; $40 in gift certificates for the champions and $15 for a team that I whimsically choose…perhaps for creating wonderful art on their answer sheets or for amazing showmanship or sportsmanship (or maybe I’ll just give it to the last place team!). Meanwhile at The Snug PDX, they make art out of their own wonderful gift certificates to the bar! Get your hands on some prizes tonight at 7!

I’ve got good news and bad news. The bad news: there will be no trivia at Thunderbird on Mississippi this Thursday, September 8th. T-Bird sends their apologies, but fortunately, it’s just a one time cancellation. Now the good news: you can still play with John Doyle this week! Check out his action tomorrow at The Snug PDX at 7:00. Furthermore, if you’ve just gotta have a pub quiz tonight, play with me at the The Waypost, also at 7:00. So much fun to be had!
