Please join us this Wednesday September 13 for a night of fun filled with drinks, food, live music and raffles. We are teaming up with the to help provide funds for the Lahaina relief fund. With over 115 people dead and many more still missing, our goal is to raise some money to help provide some basic essentials for those families still in need.

---Special Menu will be available with fun drinks and snacks
---A raffle will be available and will be gifting of wine baskets and a special donation from Starbucks
---Live music will be from 7-9pm (TBD)

The Peacekeepers society has teamed up with local Maui residents led by Justin Prunami to provide supplies that go directly to the local families. The Peacekeepers Society ‘is a female, Indigenous-led non-profit organization located on the Yakama Indian Reservation. Our mission is to provide life changing opportunities for Indigenous people. While we aim to serve the tribal community, we serve all people regardless of age, ethnicity, color, enrollment or immigration status.’

We are very excited to be releasing this months wine club with this beautiful weather. This month we are taking on summer with some tasty southern hemisphere wines.

We are very honored to be hosting winemaker Berene Sauls, one of South Africa's pioneer winemakers. Join us for an intimate tasting on 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭, 𝟒-𝟔𝐩𝐦.

Berene Sauls grew up in a small village called Tesselaarsdal situated 15 miles northeast of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, Hermanus, in the Overberg region of South Africa. Tesselaarsdal has a unique history where East India Company settler, Johannes Tesselaar, left his land to his freed slaves to farm upon his death in 1810. ‘𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.’ In 2001, she joined Hamilton Russell Vineyards and our good friend Emul Ross (many of you may have already met), where she took on many aspects of the wine business. In 2015 she started her own winery, Tesselaarsdaller, where she focuses on Pinot Noir and Burgundy. Influenced by that French Burgundian style, Tesselaarsdaller produces terroir driven and site specific wines.

We will be tasting her highly acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay as well as some other tasting wines from the area. A small buffet will be provided.

Yes, Sauvignon Blanc reigns over these two islands but New Zealand is not just limited to this grassy, tropical fruited white wine. While we don’t see many red’s here in the US, they are well known for producing Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache and much more.

We hope you all have had the chance to meet the newest member of the Vino team, Celeste. If not, swing on by and say hello 👋 We are very excited to have her part of the team.

A quick intro in 1st person:
‘I hail from the great state of Nevada but have come to Oregon via WA, ID, AK, UT, MT, a bout around the globe and then onto the beautiful state of Oregon and the amazing city of Portland. I was lucky enough to work as a harvest intern in the Willamette Valley (greatest domestic wine region in my humble opinion) at Penner Ash and Dusky Goose. I love being outside and I love wine, if the two are combined I’m in heaven. I also appreciate a fine cheese and a fine Dad joke every now and again.’

Its time to turn the page to see what the next chapter holds!
I can’t believe that I got to call the Pacific Northwest, Portland, the Southeast & overall the Montavilla community home for over 6 years.
It’s such a privilege to be surrounded by wholehearted people that support you no matter what… Such phrases are tossed around all too commonly, but I truly stand behind it and want to thank every single customer, regular & friend who made it through the doors of Vino Veritas to spend some quality time with the Vino boys. =)

As I’m writing this I feel bittersweet emotions creeping up. My decision to leave Vino hasn’t been an easy one, but ultimately its the needed step to enhance work and life balance in the house and to have more support from immediate family.
Our journey will take us back to Northern Italy, more precisely the small town of Caldaro, near the Dolomites in Alto Adige.
It’s there, where we will settle down, trying to regain some balance in our everyday life.

I’m looking forward to some new opportunities but am well aware that challenges will arise, after all I left my hometown as a 19-year old, deciding to travel the world for years on end.

I’m grateful to return, wearing many different hats: father of two, husband, sports enthusiast & ongoing travel/adventure seeker. We will take this summer one day at a time to ease back into it, the routine will kick in before we know.

Until then, we hope to soak up these next months and hope some of you find time to swing by for a friendly good bye.

Nothing would be more meaningful to us than to see all of your beautiful faces today. You have been the life of this lovely bar and we cannot thank YOU enough for how amazing these last years have been.
