As posted elsewhere, this evenings event was postponed
We have decided to postpone this event until October.
After the Sapphic Discussion on the 28th, it became clear there are some seemingly incongruent ideas and overlapping groups to work through.
In the end, we’d rather be right than fast.
(Also — two of the hosts we planned to use are unavailable this weekend. That too.)
While much of what was desired at the discussion already exists at Sanctuary:
Karaoke,
Open Mic,
Game Night,
T4T Nights,
Trans Fem Night ,
and vegan menu,
we left the discussion with three clear takeaways:
1) The event needs to police behavior rather than identity
2) There needs to be explicit inclusion
3) There needs to be a clear definition of Sapphic
We have reached out to several community members for input on how to do this correctly, and we thank you for your patience.
Notes:
Sanctuary will be closed September 6 so our staff can have an actual Labor Day weekend for the first time ever. Yes Coach used to be on first Sundays (ironically a M4M event). The host asked to move to a quarterly schedule and will return November 29th.
