Spring is almost here and the rocket bug has bitten. Stay tuned for new developments!

We still exist! Rockets have been on the back burner after the no go launch last September. Life has happened but is beginning to calm down a bit so we will start sharing new rocket adventures. Pete has been to one launch this year but hopefully we will all go again later in the summer. Obviously we do not have to build a rocket this year but there will be some work/improvements to the keg rocket before Balls 2015 and we will keep you all posted!

Well, we are all a bit numb this morning. This is a post we never really anticipated having to make but there is a silver lining so keep reading! The bad news is that we were not able to launch our rocket. We had everything prepped for launching on Saturday and were minutes from loading it up to take out to the launch pad when some clouds that were forming (and a forecast of rain) caused FAA officials to reduce the ceiling to around 10K for the rest of the day. At this point we were bummed but word was that Sunday morning would be clear and that we would be able to launch as early as 7 am so we prepared for a launch first thing in the morning. Unfortunately, we had a pretty bad wind storm in the middle of the night and woke up to more clouds (and it had rained during the night) and the forecast was for an increasing chance of rain. If it rains while you are on the playa you are stuck until it dries out because you cannot drive, or even walk, on the muck that is created. So we decided we had to start packing and get ready to leave. Around 9 am they did open up the launch to rockets but again to only 10K so there was no reason to wait to see if we could launch. BUT, our silver lining is that we have an amazing rocket that is ready to go for next year! Until Balls 2015 we will enjoy our local Oregon launches and work on some other fun (but smaller) projects. Thank you all so much for your support and interest in what we are doing! This monster will fly!!!
