Happy Wednesday Everyone-
Things are looking up around here, the water had finally receded and we have the basement back together and we are mostly back up and running again. Its been a long week. It looks like water levels are continually going down, so hopefully that's it for the season and we'll be back to normal from here on.
On a different note. Effective immediately, we are removing all our Wednesday and Thursday Hours. We've tried all sorts of things on those days, and while they may work for a week or two- we can't routinely attract enough people during the work week to keep those hours. Additionally, the number of private events has really grown over the last couple months. In the last week, two additional parties have requested a Thursday evening for a party. Removing those hours in favor of hosting private parties on those days is more responsible. In an environment where our supplier prices keep increasing- we either have to increase our prices or control our costs more. Eliminating days we have limited or no customers takes priority over increasing prices. We hope you all understand.
I really didn't want to trim those days, but paying staff to be here for only a handful of customers versus setting that day aside for private events is our best way forward. We will continue to hold occasional special events ourselves on those days too. Things like cocktail classes or tastings will still be held, but they will be occasionally as the schedule on those days allows, instead of weekly.
As we settle into this new weekly schedule, we explored the possibility of adding additional hours to Friday and Saturday. This is a distinct possibility that we will be opening earlier on those two days in the near future.
I really appreciate everyone's continued support. This was not an easy decision, and not one I take lightly. But, I have a responsibility to make sure we are doing the best we can with our resources. If you or your family is thinking of having a private event like birthday, graduation, retirement or wedding party, please reach out to us, we're happy to help.
