Fun fact: In the 1970s, under the disco lights of Oaks Park Roller Rink, Danny “Midnight Glide” Marconi ruled the floor. He moved like he was floating spinning, sliding, and weaving through crowds without a single wobble. When he laced up, the whole rink stopped to watch, because everyone in Portland knew he was the best to ever touch his skates to that wood. Top right in this photo were Danny’s actual skates.
