Recently purchased under new management, Veterans Billiards has become a family friendly business located in a quiet, safe location in Port Charlotte. We offer the finest pool tables in the area, excellent rates ($10.50 all day or $7.75 per hour per person) that's from 12pm until 615pm . $10.00 unlimited from 6:15 pm to 8pm with 2 free drinks. $8.75 unlimited after 8pm. We offer beer($3.25 domestic/$3.75 import), wine coolers($3.75), sodas, energy drinks, water & snacks. The owner and staff are very friendly, hands on and concerned with offering all an entertaining evening for the serious pool shooter, or those just looking for fun!

Let’s talk about all those little APA rules. 🎱

I post a lot of memes and jokes about ball in hand, marking your pocket, and stuff like that. And it amazes me how many people think you’re wrong for calling it when somebody breaks a rule.

What sport do you play where somebody breaks a rule, and somehow you’re the bad guy for pointing it out?

Part of being a champion is knowing the game. The whole game. Not just how to make a ball, but knowing the rules, remembering the little details, and keeping your head in it when the pressure is on. Those little things matter. You don’t get to decide they don’t matter just because you forgot one.

Think about a football player who drops the ball before crossing the goal line because he’s already celebrating. Is the other team supposed to leave it there because they knew he meant to score? No. You finish the play. Paying attention is part of competing.

Same thing here. If I make the shot but forget to mark my pocket, that’s on me. I need to own that and remember next time. My opponent isn’t there to babysit me. They’re there to beat me, and I’m there to beat them.

I don’t understand expecting somebody to overlook a mistake just because you don’t think that particular rule is important. We both signed up to play the same game, under the same rules.

So why does the person who calls the rule get more grief than the person who broke it?
