✨Today we celebrate the heart and soul of OYO!!! ✨
“Oyo” was the affectionate nickname of our chef’s beloved grandmother — the woman who inspired it all.
Though she is no longer with us, today would have been her 117th birthday, and we honor her legacy, her love, and her kitchen wisdom.
Her cooking philosophy began with the phrase “muxalace” — “let’s lace this pot up with a little bit of everything.” That spirit lives in every dish we serve.
Her credo reflects the vibrant heritage of Guyanese cuisine - an eclectic blend of flavors from the ancestral homelands of its people all find a home here at OYO.
Today, we celebrate you, Oyo. Thank you for teaching us that food is love, culture, and community — all in one pot.
Happy Heavenly 117th Birthday
We invite you to indulge in the essence of South American flavor - and taste the legacy!
