Well… Jeff’s quadriceps apparently submitted a leave request without consulting management. 🤦‍♀️

About eight days ago, Jeff injured his leg, and we’re fairly certain he tore his quad muscle. He’s doing okay, but it looks like his leg will be officially off duty for at least the next few weeks.

Jeff and I normally run The Black Smock side by side. This past week, however, it’s been me, myself, and an impressive amount of coffee. I’ve discovered that this operation is considerably easier with two people!

I’m closing The Black Smock today, Tuesday, September 15, so I can go to Jeff’s doctor appointments with him. I’ll be serving as chauffeur, note-taker, moral support, and the person responsible for reminding him that “I can probably walk on it” is not a medical treatment plan.

I’ll be back tomorrow—rested, caffeinated, and ready for the day!
