The Black Swan Pub

The Black Swan Pub Our little piece of England for friends and family. The Black Swan Pub Plant City - was named after The Black Swan of Jackfield, England.

The Black Swan Inn stands beside the River Severn, once the main thoroughfare for commercial traffic, at Jackfield in Shropshire, a county on the border between England and Wales. In the middle of the 19-century the building belonged to Sir George Paul, the owner of what amounted to the Jackfield portion of the Manor of Broseley. The Black Swan had several different owners, 1920 Edwin Shinton, and

then by his wife. The next landlord was their son, Bert Grinnel Stinton. Bert continued the tradition of brewing the beer which he sold. His brother in law to Harry Tranter would buy the beer for their shop in Tunbridge Wells. Along with other members of his family Harry found a welcome at the Swan and spent varying lengths of time there. Harry Tranter is Mark's Grandfather.
