We just wanted to clear up any confusion and let everyone know that we will not be re-opening on Friday, May 1. The governor explained that re-opening for BARS will be evaluated on or before May 18, but no official bar reopening date has been set. We are aware that many other bars are choosing to forgo the rules or they are under a false impression that just because they sell food they can argue they are a “restaurant.” That is not the standard which defines a “bar” under the law. What defines a bar versus a restaurant is based on the percentage of alcohol sold, and based on that definition we are in fact a BAR. TABC has made it very clear that they will be enforcing these regulations, and we are not lawbreakers and we value keeping our liquor license. Thank you. Stay safe.
