I’m putting three Richard DeShantz Restaurant Group to a fall coffee test, starting with Coop De Ville . ☕️🍂
🥇The caramel pretzel matcha was my fav. Coop knows matcha, and this one nailed the sweet-and-salty without overpowering it. They did go heavy on the pretzels, so drink it before the topping gets mushy.
🥈 I also loved the turtle latte. Caramelly, nutty and packed with rich chocolate, it was alllmost too rich, but stopped just short of crossing the line.
🥉 I ordered the pumpkin spice after the barista mentioned it wasn’t as popular that day. I wasn’t surprised; we’ve all been there, done that. But they make their own pumpkin syrup, which puts this a big step above the chains. It had pumpkin-pie vibes, with a nice dusting of spice on top; I just found it a little boring. If pumpkin spice is your thing, though, I think you’ll like it.
They also have a pumpkin peep latte that adds marshmallow flavor and sounds more interesting to me. I also didn’t try the maple pancake, but that one sounds up my alley, even if I’ve heard it may lean a little sweet.
If you stop by Coop for the fall menu, let me know what you try and what you think!
