If you’ve ever found our weather updates helpful, these are the folks who make every bit of this possible. These are the local businesses that help us do what we do, and they’re worth knowing before and after this storm. I've tagged every current sponsor in this post , and when appropriate, suggested ways you can help support these businesses as we prepare for, and recover from the upcoming ice storm. Some of these are easy, and others are a bit tricky. I mean, I hope you don't need an oral surgeon after this storm, but if you do...
Alexandria Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center is your place to go!
IGLOO Roofing I don't foresee ice dams on this one, but you know they are the local roofer to call, especially if you like what we do around here!
Buckets Crawfish & Seafood This is one you can support all year long. Especially in crawfish season!
Southern Air Heating, Cooling, & Plumbing - Central Louisiana You'll want them on speed dial for all your HVAC needs, and for the upcoming cold. Insulate those pipes, and let them drip or you'll get a nice long visit from these folks!
Ward Ace Hardware If you want to avoid those busted pipes, get out to Ward Ace Hardware, and support a local business that's been here 100 years! They'll get you set up to protect your stuff!
Ward Electric, LLC If you say "never again" on losing power in an ice storm or hurricane, they will walk you through the process of getting that whole house generator you've always dreamed of!
Alexandria Emergency Hospital Let's hope you don't have a slip and fall in all of this, but if you do, they'll take good care of you!
Mountain Man Tree Service and Forest Consulting, LLC Here's another one that will be busy for weeks after this storm leaves. If half a tree falls on your she shed, get Kohl and the team out there.
Southern Heritage Bank Need to get a home equity loan to get that shiny new generator? Go on over to Southern Heritage Bank!
Louisiana Fireplace Generator isn't in the budget? Make sure the fireplace is working as it should, and keep that chimney swept!
England Airpark/Alexandria International Airport Tired of this craziness? Get yourself to Tahiti after the ice melts!
Bug Busters Pest Control They are actually coming to take care of our exterminating needs next week. Assuming we thaw out by Wednesday.
Rapides Regional Medical Center There's always a baby boom after a major ice storm. Book your room 9 months in advance!
PuroClean of CenLa Pipes burst? Need that mess cleaned up? PuroClean will take care of that not so fun job.
Misty Rivers, Agent, Century 21 Buelow-Miller Realty Want to move to Key West to avoid any chance of ice? Misty can help you sell your house! If you like this wild weather, she can help you find one!
Cleco Uhh. Let's just pray for the safety of the linemen, and that this isn't as bad as it could be.
Louisiana Christian University Enroll in college! They don't have a meteorology program, but offer lots of other degree programs that allow you to keep me and Tom as your local meteorologist!
Louisiana Farm Bureau Federation They support farmers, so I support them! And if you have problems with an insurance claim from another company, switch over to them! They are who I use, and are incredibly easy with the claims process.
Cenla Broadcasting Follow them for breaking news updates from my buddy Steven Maxwell TV!
Action Rooter, LLC Septic tank troubles? You'll get to hang out with my father in law, brother in law, or nephew as they handle the dirty work!
I think that's about it. I know people don't love commercials, but it's necessary to do what we do. I appreciate each and every one of these businesses that help support what Tom and I do to provide you with hype free, and (mostly) accurate forecasts focused on Central Louisiana! If you aren't able to be a sponsor, we get that. But supporting our sponsors is just as important. Thanks to them, and thanks to you all!
One more note. I often get asked how else people can support this page. There is an option to subscribe if you'd like. This gives you access to a smaller subscriber group that gets an occasional early, irresponsible heads up if I see something cooking, but don't want to alert the masses. I don't provide any information in that group that is something the public would need to take action on. It's basically a way to "tip the dealer" if you feel like it. OK. Commercial over. Back to weather.
