๐ฒ Itโs Pine Fact Wednesday!
The historic Highline Trail was established in 1870, making it more than 150 years old. It once connected homesteads and ranches beneath the Mogollon Rim but keeping a trail this old safe and sustainable takes a tremendous amount of work!
From 2020 through 2025, approximately how many miles of the Highline Trail were restored?
๐ด RED: 63 miles
๐ต BLUE: 25 miles

This restoration was a huge collaborative effort involving the Tonto National Forest, National Forest Foundation, Arizona Trail Association, Rim Country Mountain Bike Association, Wild Arizona, professional trail crews, volunteers and many community partners.
Weโre especially proud that our own local nonprofit, Pine/Strawberry Fuel Reduction Pine Strawberry Fuel Reduction, was part of this important work! PSFR has partnered with the U.S. Forest Service since 2009 to build, improve and maintain sustainable trails around Pine and Strawberry. Their trail work is powered by volunteers and donations and they still need community support today. ๐ฒ๐ฅพ
