The Wise House Theatre

The Wise House Theatre What makes us different? We are very family friendly, we don't serve alcohol. We are all about the quality of the music.

We try hard to keep an inviting environment where it always feels a bit like coming home. We love traditional country music and Ameripolitan as well. The Ice House Theatre is one of the most appreciative audiences in the world and they know good music when they hear it. We have been called "a Mini Opry" by several national musicians. Huge Congratulations to our old friend Clyde Mattocks on the news that he is being inducted into the NC Music Hall of Fame this year!

11/12/2023

Our friend Clyde Mattocks said it best! This Wed at the Doghouse Grill will be an amazing chance for lovers of the steel guitar to hear a collection of the best players!

From Clyde:

Q: What do you call approximately a dozen of the best steel guitar players in our area all in one place and going at it? A: Either a sweet dream or a bad nightmare. It's our semi annual Eastern Carolina Steel Jam and its this Wednesday night (11/15) at the Dog House Tavern in Ayden.

All year long we back the best singers around. This one night, the best singers back us up. This promises to be the best ever as we have some pickers from outside our area, namely Chuck Campbell from Washington, D.C. and Joe Turner from Star, S.C. We have support band members rotating in and out. Lizzy Tobell is drummer #1.

As if that's not enough, Wednesday nights are steak night at the Dog House. If you would like a great rib eye steak with baked potato and salad, call in your order in advance at 252 304 2291.

How long has it been since you’ve heard Erin belt “Bobby McGee” or the soft understated delivery of “Didn’t We Shine”? It’s super rare to get her on stage these days but you have a chance to hear both of those and a host of new (old) songs at Lorraine’s Coffee House on July 22. See Erin and Phil along with a host of all stars (Clyde Mattocks, Jason Smith, Daniel Speelman, and Ray Burnette) for the debut of “8 Wheel Drivers”

We would love to see some of our old friends!
