🎸 CHILDREN OF THE RIFF UPDATE 🎸

Just wanted to give everyone an update on Children of the Riff. We have not dissolved it. Our plan is to do more events down the road at other venues. We just don’t have a home venue right now.

A portion of the instruments we had were donated to eARTH Awareness, who immediately put them to use at Holly Springs Motlow Elementary School. That donation included 4 new electric guitars, an acoustic guitar, 2 basses, 2 keyboards, 2 amps, 3 mini amps, 4 micro amps, a banjo, double drums on stands, a xylophone, drumsticks and miscellaneous accessories. That’s exactly what this was supposed to be about. Getting instruments into the hands of kids.

The rest of the donated instruments and gear are being picked up by Kyle Sanders, owner of Let There Be Rock in Gainesville. They also have the Black Strap venue across the street, and they’ll be making sure those donations get into the hands of kids who need them as well.

The cash we had left over is still sitting in the bank account and will be used to help fund the next Children of the Riff event.

Being a charity, we wanted to be transparent and let everyone know exactly where everything went. It took me a little longer than I wanted to get everything to the right places. Life happens. But rest assured, everything donated, down to the last guitar pick, is being sent where it belongs this week.

Thank you to everyone who donated instruments, money, time or supported any of the charity events we’ve done over the years. This one meant a lot. 🤘❤️

Children of the Riff isn’t gone. We’ll see what we can do with it next.
