Tim and I started The Pourfolk because we believed event bartending could offer more.
After spending most of our adult lives working as bartenders and hospitality professionals, we noticed something while planning our own wedding: the bar was treated like an afterthought. Every other vendor took the time to plan with us, offer guidance, and help create our vision — but the bar service felt rushed, impersonal, and overpriced for the level of support we received.
Around the same time, we kept seeing ads saying things like, “You don’t even need bartending experience to start a mobile bar business.” While we respect anyone building something for themselves, we also believe bartending is a real profession where experience and hospitality matter.
That’s why we created The Pourfolk.
We wanted to build the bartending service we wish we had for our own wedding — one that combines real hospitality, professional bartending experience, creativity, and genuine planning support.
We are a licensed and insured husband-and-wife bartending team with 40+ years of combined hospitality experience proudly serving Upstate South Carolina.
