Another match day tailgate in the books! Thank you to all those who stopped by, chatted and partook of the drinks. First time this season that I had nothing left before going in to the stadium. Y’all cleaned me out! It was great. The big hit of the night was the Colorado Springs, aka Colorado Bulldog, seen in a photo here. Next match is in 2 weeks, but due to club tryouts, I will not be able to do the bar that night. I will be back, for the May 16th match against Orange County.

Happy game day peeps! It’s finally here! Three weeks between home fixtures was just too long! Here is the full menu for tonight at La Cantina del Fuego tailgate bar. I try to be set up by 4:30pm and I usually tear down around 6:20pm to make sure I can get into the match before the start. Stop by the Bandidos area in the express lot under that awning, say hello, hang out with some cool people before the game and have some refreshments before you go into the stadium.

Here we have two of our rotating drinks, The Yellow Card & The Red Card, from our 2nd home match. The names may be the same, but those 2 cocktails rotate ingredients & will feature different types of recipes throughout the season.

This week’s Yellow Card drink, aka White Linen, is a very popular one amongst the Bandidos and will be back many times this season, including our next match on April 11th. This drink is refreshing & perfect for warm days that features homemade simple syrup, fresh squeezed lemon juice, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur, Hendrick’s gin and garnished with cucumber slices.

This week’s Red Card,aka Cherry Bourbon lemonade, was a drink that made its Cantina Del Fuego debut last night. This cocktail features 100% tart cherry juice, homemade simple syrup, fresh squeezed lemon juice, Four Roses bourbon and garnished with a lemon slice and cherry. This one was my favorite of the week. It had a sweet and sour flavor that blended beautifully with the bourbon. I’m not sure when it will be back yet, but I guarantee it will make another appearance this season.

Home match #2 is in the books and, again, not the result we were hoping for, but the team showed fight in the 2nd half with a come from behind draw. The tailgate was another success. I was delighted to see newcomers to the bar and get to meet more Rising fans. The name and branding for the tailgate bar were a late-offseason addition, so I had a late start on getting stuff. However, some of my orders came in for game #2 and the look is starting to come together. Definitely need to get a red or black top for the canopy. We now have a 3 week break between home matches,and, hopefully, we will have some cooler temps than we’ve had of late, as well as some new merch come in.

This is The Phoenix: A drink that tastes as amazing as it looks. Made with AZ ingredients from my local farmers market, except for the tequila of course. It features fresh squeezed lemon juice, prickly pear syrup from fruit gathered in local desert areas, mesquite honey from a bee farm in Buckeye, AZ mixed with water and chiltepine peppers picked on a farm in Waddell, AZ for a spicy honey based simple syrup, a good amount of Milagro Reposada Tequila, rimmed with some tajin and finished off with a dehydrated lime wheel and chili peppers. A perfect liquid representation of Phoenix, AZ; sweet with an AZ sunset look and also brings so,e heat. I took this photo at the perfect time and the Sun really catches its beauty. This can be enjoyed each Phoenix Rising home game in the express lot at Cantina Del Fuego!

Well, the home opener for 2026 has come and gone. Not the result we were hoping for, but good fun was had by all. I had hoped to get more photos from the tailgate, but we had an amazing turnout and I was busy busy busy. We ran out of most the drinks I prepared except for the Bandido and, honestly, I bring so much of that one that if we did run out, I would be surprised. Although, we got close last night. Anyway, the hit of the night was, as always, the F #@$K New Mexico, but a close 2nd was The Rising. So now, we move onto the match against Oakland next weekend and we do it all over again! An old classic cocktail will be the basis for The Oakland, aka Mai Tai, and I will be attempting the original recipe that was created in a bar in Oakland, CA, plus some other tasty creations. Good evening peeps, just a heads up. If you’re looking for a spot to pregame this weekend for the home opener, or you have a spot but want to stop by for a chat and a drink, I will be bringing my tailgate bar, Cantina del Fuego, and will be serving up some game themed cocktails. Here is the menu I will be bringing, so take a look and stop by the Bandidos tailgate in the express lot if you want to get ready to bring the heat against OC and meet some other Rising fans. I’ll also have some on-the-ball options as well as a secret menu option. Come on over and say hi!
