Dorothy H. “Dot” Murdock (nee Marek), born in 1948 and raised in Philadelphia, passed away on December 9, 2025, leaving behind a lifetime of laughter, love, and friendships that spanned generations.
Dot was the beloved wife of Harry J. Murdock and a devoted mother to Brian (Raina) and Dr. Christina (Mark) Yost. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Dexter, Meadow, and Emma, who knew her lovingly as Babci. She was their biggest fan and enthusiastic cheerleader, always eager to delight them with a silly hat or things that lit up and flashed.
For more than 20 years, Dot worked in administrative roles at Temple Health System, where her warmth, reliability, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression. Whether at work, spending time with friends at The Corner Bar, or striking up a conversation with a stranger, Dot had a rare gift: she made people feel instantly at ease and turned everyday moments into friendships.
Known for her infectious laugh and joyful spirit, Dot loved to have fun and lived life with an open heart. She consistently put others first, offering kindness, humor, and support without ever expecting anything in return.
Dot’s presence made life brighter. While she will be deeply missed, the joy she shared and the laughter she leaves behind will continue to live on through the many people who were lucky enough to know and love her.
