The Mask and Wig Club of the University of Pennsylvania Each year, Mask and Wig produces two all-original shows.

The Mask and Wig Club, founded in 1889, is the oldest all-male collegiate musical comedy troupe in the United States. A comedic production, Mask and Wig shows appeal to a broad range of audiences. In October, Mask and Wig performs on Penn’s campus for a weekend in October. In the spring, Mask and Wig members create a full-length musical. Each year’s Annual Production opens in the last week of Janu

ary and runs until early April. For over a century, Mask and Wig shows have been amazing audiences in Philadelphia and around the country. Performances feature live entertainment with 9-piece student band, a breathtaking tap dance at the end of the first act, and musical numbers that will be sure to dazzle and delight. Each show begins with a cocktail hour, and ends with a floorshow where Club members perform tried and true bits. The Mask and Wig Club House is also available for rentals. If you’re a high school student or ED-admitted student in the Philly area, join us for Mask and Wig’s Prospective Students Night on Friday, February 20 at 6:15 PM at our Clubhouse on 310 S Quince St. Along with watching the show, we’ll be hosting special Pre-Show Panel where you’ll hear directly from current members about life at Penn, performing arts on campus, and how we balance rehearsals, academics, and everything in between.

Mask and Wig is one of Penn’s oldest performing arts organizations, built on a tradition of student-written musical comedy, creativity, and community. Whether you’re passionate about theater, curious about campus life, or just want an honest look at what it’s like to be a Penn student, this is your chance to ask questions and meet the people behind the curtain 🎭

Announcing Mask and Wig’s 137th annual production VAUDE-VILLAINY! Shows run from January 24th to March 28 — ticket link in bio!

In Sinneapolis, crime is of the essence. After earning his Ph.D. in Mad Science, Dr. Bad is ready to take over the city with his right hand, Pen*s-In-a-Can, and a whole posse of dismembered body parts. There’s only one thing left to do … be in a power couple. Dr. Bad is smitten with the KitKat Bar and Cabaret’s star, Lady Godiva. He sends klutzy henchman Schmutz to plant a love serum in Godiva’s perfume, so one puff would render her instantly smitten. But Schmutz is terribly, horribly in love with his boss! Classic. When the mission goes awry, Schmutz must decide: to what lengths will he go for Dr. Bad’s affection? Can I call this court to disorder? And how many evil lairs are there in this story?
