STORY TIME: I finally got to meet my shero! I’m visiting Vegas for the week and got to meet .weaver who’s the CEO of and her husband Keith.

Fawn is actually the reason I became a bartender. I remember reading about her and the story of Uncle Nearest in the in 2017. I knew people made whiskey but I was never interested in the process until I read that article. Especially after learning that a Black man was responsible for one of the most popular whiskey brands in the world and that it was a Black woman fighting to honor his legacy.

It took about a year and a half for me to act on this interest, but in 2019 I finally signed up for bartending school. The rest is history.

Happy March! This month's flavor is non other than strawberry. Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits.

Full of antioxidants and vitamins, strawberries are known to help lower blood pressure, control blood sugar, and are even good for your heart. I often add them to my morning smoothie.
