This table is a very rare piece of Americana Billiards history!
Built in Cincinnati, by the National Billiards Mfg. Co. around 1888.
The following is from their catalogue description:
The "Climax"
Wing to the grand success we have made by manufacturing this Table, it has led some of our competitors to follow up the design and trying to imitate same with considerable less work. The Climax, though having no inlaid woods, is richly adorned with hand-carvings and veneered with the choicest Quartered Oak. This table is furnished as a Carom, Pool, or combination, supplied with our best Vermont Slate, genuine imported Simonis Cloth, our improved Famous Cushions, and a first class Outfit complete.
First off don't you just love the name, could have meant anything back then or the same as now!
Our table is 4.5 x 9' and strictly the pool version. All the above description applies to our table. As you can see it is in really good condition.
National Billiard MFG was famous for its cushion titles Itani-Nic-Nic which is Cincinnati spelled backwards, weird yet true
We think the table with this history and condition is worth $25,000
