Behind every great bottle of New York wine is a team of people you don’t always see - but who make everything possible.

From the vineyard to the cellar to the tasting room, this is the community that makes New York wine worth raising a glass to.

See that little logo on the back of your New York wine bottle? Here's what it actually means. 🌱

The New York Sustainable Winegrowing Trustmark - launched by the New York Wine & Grape Foundation in 2024 - tells wine lovers that the bottle in their hand was made by people who care about clean waterways, healthy farms, and thriving communities. It means the people and places that make New York so special are being protected with every bottle.

In other words, it's not just good wine. It's wine you can feel good about. 🫶🌎

New York wine is at the heart of this year's The Great New York State Fair, and we're bringing the best of the state right to the Horticulture Building.

This Thursday, August 27, the New York Wine & Grape Foundation will host three seminars at the New York State Tasting Yard, featuring top-scoring wines from the 2026 New York Wine Classic. It's a rare opportunity to taste some of the finest wines New York has to offer, poured right alongside the story of how they got there.

As Sam Filler, Executive Director of NYWGF, put it: "This is where New York celebrates its agriculture, from the growers who tend the vines to the winemakers who bring them to the glass. This year, we’re especially excited to bring a taste of the New York Wine Classic to the Fair, offering visitors exclusive access to some of the top-scoring wines in the state while learning firsthand about the diversity and quality coming out of every region of New York."

Whether you're a longtime New York wine enthusiast or trying a New York wine for the first time, come find us in the Horticulture Building. We'd love to see you there.

The Great New York State Fair runs August 26 - September 7.

The Taste NY program is gearing up for another exciting year showcasing the best of New York State agriculture with local food and beverages being featured in the Horticulture Building at The Great New York State Fair, offering locally made products to fairgoers. National Rosé Month is the perfect excuse to pour a glass of New York pink...but our winemakers will tell you it's a year-round occasion. 🌸

In our latest article, winemakers from Hosmer Winery, Ryan William Vineyard, Weis Vineyards, and Wölffer Estate Vineyard share what makes New York's cool-climate regions ideal for rosé production, why these wines age better than you might think, and how they celebrate rosé all year long.
