❤💫🎶👇THANK YOU!!!
Well, another Great South Bay Music Festival is in the books... and what a fantastic way to close “Long Islands Music Festival” 2026 (Newsday)
Hard to believe that our little festival that began in 2007 with a $10 ticket price, headliners Richie Havens and Foghat, one main stage and an acoustic tent, has now grown to a 4 day, 4 stage festival that has hosted such legends as The Doobie Bros, Phil Lesh, B.B. King, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Sublime and so many more. As one of the few and true “Independent music festivals” left, it is an honor to find ourselves the largest and longest running music festival on LI.
Each year, I walk away from this weekend humbled by the incredible community that makes this festival possible. This four-day event is the result of over a year’s worth of planning and the dedication of so many committed people who work behind the scenes long before the first note is played and long after the last encore ends.
So, “How many people and businesses does it take to put on a professional music festival”? Lets see:
First and foremost, thanks to our incredible artists. Thank you for bringing your passion, talent, and unforgettable performances to our stages. Whether you were headlining the Main Stage or you were a local emerging artist introducing yourselves and your music to new fans on one of our side stages, you were part of the magic, that made this weekend one of the best festivals GSB has experienced.
I'd also like to recognize the many people working behind the scenes who rarely get the thanks they deserve. Our production crews, union stagehands, ticketing staff, pourers, parking attendants, volunteers and hospitality staff. Special thanks to our safety management teams: hired security (CSS), public safety, local police officers, firefighters, EMT and medical teams—who stood ready throughout the weekend to ensure everyone could enjoy the festival safely. We are deeply grateful for your professionalism, preparedness, and commitment.
Thanks to our valued sponsors and community partners including Optimum, Stony Brook Medical, Five Towns College, Monster, News 12, Newsday, Happy Days, ILNY and more, whose support helps to make this festival possible each year. Thank you to our food vendors, artisans & craftspeople, exhibitors, breweries and local businesses.
We also appreciate our friends in radio, television, print, digital media, and every journalist, photographer and content creator who helped share the excitement of the weekend with music fans everywhere.
A HUGE thank you to the Inc. Village of Patchogue, Mayor Paul Pontieri & the Village Trustees, Patchogue Parks Dept. (the best on LI) and especially our local residents and neighbors who put up with some discomfort (very little I hope) from traffic, noise and the results of our bringing a city into a park.
To every fan who bought a ticket, danced in front of the stages, discovered a new favorite band, supported our vendors, or simply shared a smile with a stranger—thank you. You are the heart of this festival, and your energy is what makes Great South Bay so special year after year.
Finally, thank you to Ryan, Kayla, Chris, Mermaid Sue, Jason, John, Jess and the rest of our hard working, committed staff.
We wish everyone peace, love, good health and much music. Hope to see you in 2027! Jim, Jamie & Larry
