Most popular tournaments are 525 and under period.
I have been asked about this and here’s my opinion. Most players will never reach 500.
They love the game but don’t have the time or resources to spend practicing or playing but want to compete. They simply want to play with their buddies and players that are in their threshold.
Now I will address one other thing. I never set up a tournament to keep some one out of it. That’s complete garbage. I do set up tournaments that I think will bring the most players out to play period. Were there sand baggers? Most definitely and I will watch more carefully in the future but that’s hard to find when new faces show up and their rating say different.
And in the future there will be tournaments for high rated players, but as just addressed a lot will be for the 525, 499 players.
And by far the best tournaments are “FOR THE LADIES” !! And there will definitely be several more of those!!
