31 degrees this morning and cloudy. Not much more to report on the weather U.P. here. Here`s what has been happining on the trails......

Groomer Dave ran trail #8 south of town, skipping the swamp of course, and called it good. He did crack the ice on the big holes on the south end of the power line. We will run it again Sunday but if we break through that ice we will be done with that trail. The one hole can get 3' deep. I got one VERY important thing to mention on this trail. We have the swamp section ribboned off with caution tape cause the gate is buried in snow. Some JERK(S) ripped down this ribbon and rode thru. We redid it now but this act was VERY dangerous. If somebody just followed your tracks and got stuck in there it could have been serious. PLEASE respect the roped off trails!!!!!!

Today we are gonna run the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9 and the Point trails #452 & #453. For the rest of the season we are gonna run trails as the weather allows. Some good news is we have our 3rd machine up and runnin again!!!!

All fer now. Get yer bunnies U.P. here for one last ride, still lots of snow in da woods!!!!!

29 degrees this morning and cloudy. Here`s what went on with the trails yesterday, and a couple of other things.......

Groomer Keith ran the Pine Stump trails #8 & #9. He had a good battle with all the drifting in "Siberia" but made it thru. It turned out good but he is gonna run it again today to clean up.

I ran the South trail #8 and it turned out good also.

Today we are hittin the Point trails #452 & #453 and the Pine Stump trails again.

Now, here`s the couple of other things. We are down one machine still. The mechanic thinks he`s got it figured out and is sending us a part. We will install it and hopefully that does it. If not he can get here tomorrow. In fact, I think he`s coming tomorrow anyhow to run a computer scan on the whole system now that I think about it.

I explained this yesterday in my report and I thought I was pretty clear but I`m still hearing questions so here ya go again.....THE SWAMP SOUTH OF TOWN AND NORTH OF THE RIVER MOUTH IS CLOSED!!!! It is ribboned off cause the gate is buried in snow. THE FALLS TRAIL #45 IS RIDEABLE BUT WE ARE DONE GROOMING IT!!!! If we went in there with a machine we would break it up and it would be unridable. Its gonna be rough but at least you can ride it. Simple as that, it is what it is and we can`t do nuttin about the low lands.

Soooo.......there ya have it.......we`ll keep going until the weather won`t let us or until the end of the month with the other sections of trail.

11 degrees this morning with a light snow falling. The blizzard Sunday and Monday sure was a doozey!!! Some of the locals said they haven`t seen anything like that since the 70`s. It took me 2 full days to dig out!! Here`s what we got going on with the trails........

I was going to put out a report yesterday evening but I was waiting for the guys to get back to be able to give you an accurate report. Turns out they didn`t get back till late so here ya go.....

Groomer Glenn ran the Point trails #452 & #453. He said they turned out great but there is some heavy drifting (imagine that) on Vermillon Rd. He made it through but its gonna take another run to get that section in shape.

Groomer Keith headed out for the Pine Stump trail #8 & #9 but about a 1/2 hr in the machine thru a code and was fixin to go into limp mode. He managed to turn around and get it back to the barn before it quit running. He got ahold of the mechanic from Prinoth and he graciously took the time to walk Keith thru everything he could over the phone to try and fix the issue, this took hours. Unfortunately nothing worked, seems to be a computer issue. The mechanic is going to be here as soon as he can make it. Sooooo.....we are down one machine at the end of a blizzard......bummer. Keith will hit the Stump today with another machine.

I took a machine out yesterday w/o a drag just to reset the town trail and do battle with the drifting thru town. I will run the rest of the south trail #8 today. I will say this one last time. We are done with the swamp south of town, the warm up last week killed it. We are also done with the Falls trail #45 for the same reason. I`ve heard some people asking why, they rode it and it seems fine, just remember, you`re rolling what.....600-700 pounds, we`re rolling 14,000.....big difference!!! The last time we groomed it we squished up water all over the place and we are NOT gonna take the chance of sinking a machine!! The trail is still ridable and the gates remain open, its just gonna be rough.

One last thing I was gonna address but I decided not to on this forum. This page is for trail reports. There is a lot of key board warriors bashing the heck outa us on social media. There is a lot of half truths and misinformation, it is not true, some of you won`t believe this but its not my problem, believe what you want. We are a VERY small group and we work VERY HARD to give you the best trails we can. As soon as something goes a little wrong we get roasted!! Why not offer help instead of hatred?

All I have for today. We WILL keep runnin till the end of the season. I`ll keep ya`ll informed.

14 degrees this morning and the blizzard is still going strong! Its been 24 hrs. straight and they are saying another 24 before it lets up. Its crazy out der folks! I`ve got drifts at least 6` high and I`ve got one door open enough to even get outa my house! I`ve lived in da yoop for almost 26 yrs. and can`t remember anything like this. As far as the trails go.....I think its gonna be another day or two before we can get out.....I`m actually thinking not until Wednesday.....but we WILL be out as soon as we can. The trails will probably be a blast right now for all you drift busters but you groomed trail riders will have to wait a couple days till we can get to it. Bout all I got for now. If you do head out for a ride today be mindful of possible blown down trees and crazy drifting and be safe!

Its Sunday afternoon, 5pm, and a down right blizzard out der. I don`t remember seeing a storm this bad in a long time. Thought I would jump on here real quick cause social media is going crazy thinking we are done grooming. This is far from the truth! We are done on the Falls trail #45 and the swamp on trail #8 just south of town cause that last warm up really put a hurtin on them. The warmer swamp water really started to flow cause of the melt and caused a lot of open spots. We WILL NOT risk swamping a machine! We are gonna wait out this blizzard and get back at it on all the other trails. This may not be until Tuesday or even Wednesday as this is supposed to last until Monday night or early Tuesday morning. We have to dig ourselves out too!!!! Sooooo....please be patient. I will jump on here tomorrow morning and give ya`ll an update.

19 degrees this morning under a bright blue sky. Well......the weather guessers got us again. We were under a winter storm warning yesterday. "They" were saying 8" plus. I got about an inch here at my place with a touch of freezing rain....bummer. "They" are saying another big one tomorrow.....we`ll see. At least they are gettin the temps right. It is supposed to stay on the cooler side for the next week or so. Here`s what we got going on for the trails........

After our meeting we decided on going on what the weather lets us do. The warm up into the 50`s really hurt our low land trails. The main news is we are done on the Falls trail #45. It is still open to ride but if we try to groom it we will break it up and it will not be even ridable. Please understand we are rolling about 7 tons down the trail. The swamp section south of town is also done, same thing as the Falls trail, it is still ridable but we don`t want it to break up or even take a chance of sinking a groomer. This being said, here`s what we did yesterday.....

Groomer Dave ran the South trail #8, skipping the swamp of course. He said it turned out good with just a little water on top of the trail on the south end of the power line.

Groomer Glenn ran the Point trails #452 & #453. He said they turned out good and are still solid.

Groomer Keith ran the Pine Stump trail #8 and said there is some water on top of the trail in spots and the base is really thin in spots too but all in all in good shape.....think late season riding on all 3 sections.

There is still plenty of snow in da woods to play around on but the trails took a good hit with the warmer weather. If you`re thinking about coming U.P. for one last ride.....DO IT!!!!!!!! Its winding down fast folks.

44 degrees this morning under a mostly clear sky. It was sunny and 54 here yesterday and its supposed to be about the same today. We have not run the last couple of days and I can only imagine what our low land trails look like. It is supposed to cool off by the middle of the week and maybe snow a couple inches so I haven`t given up hope. We still have plenty of snow in da woods but the roads are bare around town and the dirt roads we use for trail connecters are all mud. We are having a meeting today and discuss a plan. Just wanted to jump on here and let ya`ll know whats U.P. Stay tuned.
