It all started with Clark “The Shark” Bennett.

In 1983, Clark left his job at a local bank to get back to his roots — working on the beach and close to the sand. With a 3,000-square-foot building overlooking the dunes, real bamboo on the walls, shark teeth in the bar, cold b**r, fresh fish sandwiches and live music, Clark’s vision for the “Tiki” came to life.

And what a ride it has been.

This photo makes that story even more special, with Clark pictured alongside his father and his three brothers — a piece of Bennett family history from the early days.

Through the years, Sharky’s grew, but Clark’s vision remained the same: great live music, amazing sunsets, awesome seafood and a place where people could come together and have a good time.

Today, that vision and the Bennett family legacy continue.

On Clark’s heavenly birthday, we raise a glass to Clark “The Shark” Bennett — the man who started it all.

Happy Birthday, Clark. Your legacy lives on at Sharky’s!

Did you know that before Jet Skis were flying up and down the beach, Hobie Cats ruled the water?

Back in the day, Sharky’s hosted Hobie Cat regattas right here on the beach, with colorful sails, plenty of competition, and a whole lot of fun on the Gulf.

It’s just another piece of Sharky’s history—and a reminder that we’ve been finding ways to have fun on the water for a long, long time. 😎🌴
