I’d like to clarify a few things from our “we are closed” post.
We are exceedingly greatful for the friends and regulars that we made along the way. Running a restaurant is hard, and it’s these relationships and successes that make it worth while. Even during a good economy, there is not much of a profit margin. Even during food shortages, we worked hard to source quality and local to provide a amazing product. Our largest problem was the sheer size of the building. If it was 1/4 of the size (and expenses) we would still be in business.
We are still looking for alternate locations, but there is not much available. We are kinda burnt out, so it has to be a perfect spot. We are probably not reopening this or another concept, but we would not say totally out of the question.
This market is fickle. Some won’t cross the bridge. Some do not understand inflation and the effect of food cost. (it’s hard to eat at McDonalds for less than 10 dollars now). Some are fantastic and let food quality be the guide. Some go home and keyboard warrior it up instead of giving a restaurant a chance to correct whatever occurred. Some were blessings every time they entered the building. We thought because of the volume of traffic at that intersection it was a perfect location.
