🔹PUBLIC NOTICE🔹
Hello All!
Many of you are already aware that our land lease has expired and, try
as we might, we could not convince the property owners to renew. There's never
a great time to move, but it will be much easier to do now in the summer season
while it's slower. It appears the entire complex is slated for tear down and
redevelopment. We're watching as our neighbors move out and now it's time for
us to move as well.
Not to worry though, we are reopening in a new location ASAP.
However, we are very proud of, and thankful for, the 18 terrific years we had at
the Palm Canyon Drive location. We made many wonderful, life-long friends, we
were "hand in glove" with the best musicians that the Coachella Valley, Riverside
and San Bernardino Counties had to offer, to say nothing of the amazing live acts
Steve Johns brought in from all over the nation. We've been blessed with honest,
hard-working, long term employees and, as any bar/ restaurant owner will tell
you, you just couldn't do it without the right crew.
From our humble beginnings with Desert Heat Bike Weekend and a band playing
inside, our room was packed, to expanding and having another band on the stage
outside, with a thousand people fenced in the parking lot beer garden! Sunday
jams were a grab bag of fun, many thanks again to all who hosted over the years,
live weekends mixed with local talent and tribute bands, late nights, ...and some
very early mornings. Nothing compared with the day the actual Budweiser
Clydesdales rolled up out front and delivered our beer right off the wagon! I have
to say, the people over at Heimark Distributing have treated us like family since
our very first order. Celebrity drop-ins, both music industry and Hollywood
related were always exciting, but it was the day to day, Roadhouse regulars that
gave us the staying power. We laughed with all of you (cried a few times with you
too), birthdays, anniversaries, weddings to wakes, The Roadhouse gladly
accommodated them all. The Pub Crawls were always outrageously fun,
(remember the first year when the party bus ran over our patio fence and
knocked down a palm tree?), the other bars were always game for whatever
came that day! We are also very proud of the great relationships we've forged
with the other bars here in Palm Springs. Many is the time one of us would run
out of CO-2 or a keg of Bud on a Saturday night, the phones would light up in
panic mode but someone was ALWAYS there to drag your ass out of the fire!
Truly brothers (and sisters) in arms! We wouldn't trade a single second of it for
anything. Genuinely great times and we owe it all to all of you!
We are anxiously looking forward to "Roadhouse 2.0" and cannot wait to fire it all
back up again, there's a pathway of red tape we must follow, 30 day posting for
the liquor license, permits, inspections, etc, etc, etc. It will all be new, yet all
familiar too. So for those of you who can't wait, don't sweat it, in the mean time
you can still get an ice cold beer over at the Fireside Lounge with Johnny and
Ashley or drop into Hunters and say Hi to Mary and Jennifer, they always have a
spot for one more! Or any of the other great hospitality oriented bars and
restaurants Palm Springs has to offer, I've been to every single one of them and I
can tell you they are ALL great!
With a sincere thanks to all who've passed through our doors, we've been blessed
to be your hosts, Greg & Eleanor
