Today is D-Day and we are honor those who fought on the beaches of Normandy, France. This historical day is a reminder of the day troops of Allied forces staged one of the most pivotal attacks against Germany during World War II.

Message to the troops of Normandy: “You are about to embark upon the Great Crusade, toward which we have striven these many months. The eyes of the world are upon you.”
Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force, 1944

Today we toast National Moonshine Day to recognize a beverage with a notorious record of blurring the lines of history and the law, turning ordinary men (and women) into criminals, and common criminals into legends. Follow along as we discuss how the history is just as strong as the drink.

Post may not have moonshine, but you can have a nice shot of Mallort. We are open to the public.

Each year on the Wednesday after Memorial Day, National Flip Flop Day encourages us to wear our favorite flip flops and show them off!
Put on your favorite pair and head to Post 690 today.

Flip flops are a lightweight footwear is designed to protect our tender feet from the hot ground and sand. The term “flip flop” has applied to flat-soled sandals with straps between the first and second toes and across the top of the foot since the 1960s.
National Flip Flop Day strictly recognizes the footwear that makes a flip-flopping sound as we walk, slapping the back of our feet as we head to the beach or make way for the pool.
