Residents in Jacksonville, Florida, had apparently reached their limit with a massive pothole in the Murray Hill neighborhood. 🚧😅
After repeated complaints about the damaged road, someone came up with a solution that was impossible to ignore — they planted an actual banana tree right inside the pothole. 🍌🌴
Yes, a full banana plant was sitting in the middle of the road, turning an annoying piece of damaged pavement into what looked like a tiny tropical garden. 🌱😂
Photos of the unusual protest quickly spread online, bringing far more attention to the pothole than a traffic cone ever could. 📸
The message was pretty simple: residents wanted the road repaired, and they wanted officials to notice just how bad the problem had become.
Local officials acknowledged the issue, although a city council member said the banana tree had to be removed and indicated that repairing the road could still take some time. 🛣️🔧
The stunt was obviously unusual, but that was exactly the point.
Sometimes, when a pothole gets ignored long enough, people find creative ways to make sure nobody can ignore it anymore. 😭🍌
Jacksonville may have wanted a road repair, but for a moment, Murray Hill had something much more unexpected: a pothole with its own tropical landscaping. 🌴😂
