Wild Hare Books is Sarah Almond and Nathan Sisco, two curious individuals with a love of great books and delicious wine who moved to Oxford, NC in January of 2021. They were immediately delighted by the town's hospitality and charm. The idea for Wild Hare was borne out of a love of the local community, and Sarah and Nathan's desire to bring folks together. The goal of Wild Hare is to be a true “third place” that celebrates the transformative power of reading, language, and communication, as well as the joy of gathering to exchange ideas, anecdotes, and the tallest of tales. When we ask "What's your story?," we're sticking around to hear the answer.

ONE for the books! We’ve been celebrating all day, and are ready to take it to the next level with this chocolate cake (Edna Lewis recipe, natch) with banana custard and peanut butter frosting. 📢 NEW SHIRT ALERT 📢 we’re rolling out a bunch of new merch over Hot Sauce, including these rad new BIG HARE shirts in tonal colors. Nathan is sporting the mustard, but we’ve got adobe rose, sagey green, and dusty blue shirts, all with the same design, in a full range of sizes.

It’s (kinda, sorta) FALL Y’ALL! And we are here to welcome all that golden light, the crisp mornings, and sunset-colored leaves. 🍁

It’s also time to celebrate, with Oxford’s annual Hot Sauce Festival coming in 🌶️ on 9/11 and 9/12, plus our BIRTHDAY the following weekend. One whole year of being here…expect all kinds of goodies 📚 Come try a jaffle, or a new w**e you’ve never heard of, or maybe a 600-page Fall blockbuster for those chilly nights.
