Congratulations to our friends at Gadsden State Community College on the beautiful renovation of the Wallace Hall Fine Arts Center!

OPAC Executive Director John Longshore and Deputy Director Nick Bonds were glad to join the celebration and help mark this exciting new chapter for Wallace Hall. Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford, Congressman Mike D. Rogers, Gadsden State President Alan Smith, and others shared thoughtful remarks about the important role the arts play in bringing people together and strengthening our communities.

We are always excited to see investments in arts and culture across East Alabama. These spaces do more than enrich our lives. They attract visitors, support local businesses, strengthen communities, and help drive the economy throughout the ONE East Alabama region.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make this renovation possible. We look forward to seeing Wallace Hall continue to serve students, artists, audiences, and our region for many years to come!

TONIGHT, the 10x10 Series returns for its second season at OPAC!

We’re excited to introduce the 2026-2027 lineup, featuring nine performances and a new group of local and regional artists taking the stage in The Studio at OPAC. It all begins tonight with Oxford native Lana White & The Heights!

This morning, we were proud to host the State of the Cities event for our friends at the Calhoun County Area Chamber & Visitor's Center.

We were honored to welcome the mayors of Hobson City, AL, Ohatchee, The City of Anniston, Alabama, The City of Oxford, Alabama, City of Weaver, and City of Jacksonville, Alabama as they shared updates and their visions for the future of their communities. We were also pleased to welcome Congressman Mike D. Rogers for a special visit.

It was inspiring to hear about the progress taking place across Calhoun County and especially meaningful for OPAC to host this important regional event. Thank you!

This is a HUGE deal for students across our region!

During the 2026–2027 school year, OPAC will present four incredible professional shows exclusively for school groups, and admission is completely FREE! These performances are presented as part of the Potts School Day Away Series!

Students will experience Lightwire’s “The Tortoise & The Hare,” “Puppy Pals Live,” “Bill Blagg: The Science of Magic,” and “The Colorful Hat Circus,” all live on the OPAC stage.

This is an unprecedented opportunity to introduce thousands of young people to the magic of live performing arts at absolutely no cost. We are incredibly grateful to Greg and Cheryl Potts for making the Potts School Day Away series possible.

September kicks off a new season at OPAC with six performances and plenty to look forward to!

The month begins with Oxford native Lana White & The Heights kicking off this season’s 10x10 Series, followed by the music of Creedence Clearwater Revival with Ramble Tamble, Grammy Award winner Melissa Etheridge, and country favorites Lonestar.

We’ll close out September with the genre-spanning sounds of Vitamin String Quartet and the glowing theatrical world of Lightwire’s Tortoise & The Hare.

We’re looking for someone dependable, detail-oriented, and ready to help us keep OPAC clean, safe, and welcoming for our patrons, artists, and guests.

Position Details:

* Part-time, event-based schedule
* Primarily nights and weekends based on our event calendar
* General cleaning of the theater, lobby, restrooms, and public areas
* Flexible schedule, great for someone looking for supplemental income
* Previous housekeeping or janitorial experience is preferred, but not required
