October 6, 2026 marks a very important date in the history of Orleans Country Club! One of our buildings was named after an employee, Norman LeBlanc, who spent 52 years as a Greenskeeper. The dedication was complete with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
First imagined by Norman's children Amber and Travis, was to have a golf cart parade in his honor. The OCC Board of Directors decided it was fitting to name the Maintenance Building in honor of Norman's service and dedication. Thus an event was in the making. About 70 people were in attendance to honor Norman.
The parade was led by Frank Barsalow on a fairway mower, followed by about 33 carts with the Leblanc family and friends in the first carts then the OCC Members. At the tail of the parade were the greens crew members driving various pieces of course equipment. It was a fabulous journey where favorite hunting spots of Norm's were pointed out.
The parade ended at the Maintenance Building where there were a few speeches and a ribbon cutting by the family to dedicate the building. The day culminated back at the club house for a social hour and delicious meal.
