Starting a garden has really changed the way I think about food. Spring is the time to thrive when it comes to fresh and colorful ingredients. I encourage you to start using fruits, vegetables, flowers, just alllll the colors. Common garnishes:
Fresh fruits: you can cut & use or dehydrate them in a food dehydrator or oven at low heat (135°F) for 6-12 hours until crisp.

Herbs: Bought a $5 mint and basil plant from the grocery store, planted it and never went back- Herbs are also extremely medicinal so perfect for teas and mocktails!!

Edible flowers: Violets, pansies, nasturtiums, hibiscus, lavender, chamomile, rose petals, borage, marigolds, honeysuckle, elderflowers, and jasmine. Each adds unique flavors.Always source food-grade or grow pesticide-free!
Citrus peels: Don’t just toss those peels! Create twists, wheels, or fancy designs to add aromatic oils and a pop of color.
Spices: Cinnamon sticks, star anise, and fresh ginger really engage the senses.

Eight months summarized in 20 pictures (hard work let me tell you) … May of 2024 was the start of constant cheers, laughter, bar set ups, menu testings, celebrations and so much more.. take a trip down memory lane with us as we swipe through these pictures and are in pure disbelief that our one year anniversary is just months away.
