Movie and fun this Friday!
Ahoy Matees! Welcome to PIRATE WEEK. A fun week for the whole family as we approach Pamlico County Arts Council’s Pirate Jam 2024!
Remember we are a Burgee Sponsor for this event so save those August receipts for the Silos to collect your 2024 Pirate Jam Burgee from us. The same is true for any Burgee Sponsor. Spend $150 during the month of August at a sponsor location and collect your flag!
Leading up to Saturday’s big concert event there are a few fun things on the schedule.
Tuesday night is the Paint Your Pirate event. That will be taking place at 6 pm at Broad Stokes Gallery. The cost is $45 for Members and $50 for nonmembers . Be sure to bring clothes that are appropriate for painting. You may also bring jewelry, chains, old buttons to adorn your look. There will be some food options and drinks for an additional cost!
PCAC proudly presents an expansion to two days of fun!!
On Friday we gather in our backyard at Red Rooster Music Pavilion for family fun and movie night!
We kick off the weekend with the popular classic pirate movie, The Goonies, plus mischief, games and an auction.
We roll out the plank at 5pm. Come in wearing your best Pirate clothing to enjoy photo-ops with a Pirate from the PCAC board . Bring your little ones for activities like feeding the koi in the pond and other fun games and snacks.
The highlight of pre-movie antics is the auction of Blackbeard portrait created Irene Goley of Broad Strokes Art Gallery.
Next up is a costume contest with a category for most authentic or creative pirate, and one for the kids! Winners gets a ticket for a free pizza!!!
At sundown we will roll film to get in the spirit for Saturday’s main event.
Pamlico County Arts Council’s 4th Annual Pirate Jam is this Saturday, August 31, 2024. It is held on the water in front of Teach’s Point (also known as Teach’s Cove and Dewey Point). Attendees must arrive by vessel for this event as no land lovers will be allowed for this show.
Live music starts at 2 pm with Carteret County’s rock outfit Heart Stop opening the day with classic rock grooves. Next on deck is Atlantic with their rock and pop offerings at 3:30 pm. Closing out the show will be the rockabilly beats of the Southern Hellcats at 5 pm.
