🔥 Andrews Town Hall Recap – Let’s Talk About It 🔥
Just left tonight’s meeting, and here’s what stood out: Most of the staff came back from municipal training, which is designed to make local government actually work better. Great, right?
But guess who didn’t bother? Several council members. And it shows. When you skip the training that teaches you how to lead, you’re not just hurting yourself—you’re short-changing the entire town. A lot of the nonsense we see on social media could disappear if council members actually learned the job they were elected to do. If you’re not willing to put in the work, why sit in the seat?
On top of that, the room was practically empty. Citizens, where were you? Decisions that affect your taxes, your businesses, your neighborhoods are being made—and barely anyone is watching. If we don’t show up, don’t complain later.
One positive: The first reading of a new business ordinance happened tonight. I’m curious if this will raise or lower the cost of doing business here in South Carolina. Right now, it looks organized—but I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
Bottom line: A trained council and an engaged community make for a stronger town. Neither of those boxes got fully checked tonight.
