We thought we were prepared for yesterday. The gluten-free community had other plans. 😂🤯
Seriously… WHAT. A. DAY.
Yesterday’s Gluten-Free Takeover exceeded anything we could have expected. The turnout was absolutely incredible. You came hungry, you brought your friends and families, you filled our tables ALL DAY LONG - and you kept our kitchen moving from open to close. To say you showed up for us is an understatement.
And when we say we underestimated just how much you guys would show up… we mean it. 😂
We went into the day with EXTRA gluten-free buns, flour and supplies because we knew we were going to be busy. You sold us out of buns so fast that we had to go get another bulk order to keep up.
Then you sold us out AGAIN. 😂
So back out we went for MORE. We were doing the same thing with gluten-free flour and other supplies throughout the day - getting more in the door as fast as we could because you guys just. kept. coming. And truly, we LOVED seeing it. Every time we thought the rush might slow down, more of you walked through those doors ready for gluten-free food, and we couldn’t have been happier to keep serving it. ❤️
At one point there were even lawn chairs outside while people waited to get in. 😂 If that doesn’t tell you how yesterday went, we don’t know what will.
And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more memorable… SOMEONE GOT ENGAGED. 💍🥹 A gluten-free takeover AND a proposal?! We’ll take it!
We also know yesterday wasn’t without its challenges. With a turnout bigger than we ever could have imagined came longer waits for tables and food, and definitely some things we learned along the way. But through all of it, the patience, understanding and grace you showed our team was incredible. ❤️
We heard your feedback. We learned A LOT. And we’re already talking about what we can do differently to make the next one even better.
Because yes… we said next one. 👀
Getting to serve SO many people who came through our doors specifically for gluten-free food was seriously incredible. We hope you had as much fun eating it as we did serving it, and we cannot thank this community enough for showing up the way you did.
One more important thing! Our brand-new Gluten-Free Menu was NOT just for the takeover - it’s here to stay! 🙌 You can order from it any day moving forward.
As of today, our kitchen and fryers are back to normal operations, including our two dedicated gluten-free fryers for the fried GF items on our permanent menu. Takeover-only items like the gluten-free cheese curds, onion rings, fried pickles and boneless wings are no longer available gluten-free for now - but you can expect to see them again at our next takeover. 👀
So while yesterday’s FULL gluten-free fryer takeover may be over, our Gluten-Free Menu isn’t going anywhere. ❤️
Now we need YOUR help - because we were way too busy to take pictures. 😂 If you snapped photos of your food, your crew, the line, your lawn-chair setup 😂 or anything else from the day, DROP THEM IN THE COMMENTS! We want to see yesterday from your side of the table.
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. 🫶
You showed up. You ate a ridiculous amount of gluten-free food. You gave us a day we won’t forget.
And we cannot WAIT to do this again. ❤️
