🇩🇪 Happy German Unity Day! 🇩🇪
Today, October 3, Germany celebrates Tag der Deutschen Einheit, or German Unity Day, marking the reunification of East and West Germany in 1990.
For nearly 45 years, Germany was divided by a border that separated families, communities, and an entire nation. The fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9, 1989, opened the door to an extraordinary period of change. Less than a year later, on October 3, 1990, German reunification officially became reality.
German Unity Day is a celebration of freedom, togetherness, and the reunification of a people and a country that had been divided for generations.
Today, we’re raising a stein to that history and to the spirit of unity.
Come celebrate and raise a toast with us at Rathskeller!
