Majestic Oak Vineyard in Ojai, is looking for one assistant manager to join our team. We are located on 321 E. Ojai Ave. Downstairs. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, and engaged.
Our Family owned, boutique winery is looking for an Assistant Tasting Room and sales Manager to join the team.
We are looking for someone that is friendly, enthusiastic, and passionate about the wine industry. This person must be a team player and leader when needed. Lastly, they must have strong customer service skills and confidence in their ability to teach the public, trade, ect. About our wines.
Primary Responsibilities
• Tasting Room:
• Assist with hands -on management of a small tasting room staff.
• Make customers feels welcomed and engaged.
Help manage daily tasting reservations, inventory, printed materials, and other functional tasks.
• Help boost tasting reservations and wine club.
• Provide outstanding customer service, wine education, and a memorable experience for our guests by communicating our story, winemaking process, and philosophy.
Perform opening and closing procedures, proper handing of all cash transactions, cash drawer, and going to the bank to make change.
Office administration duties: Answering phones, responding to emails, reservations, mailing list entry, guest date capture and wine club membership help when needed.
• Making sure the wines is stocked and on occasion, picking up wine from the winery.
• Ordering tasting room supplies, i.e. paper towels, cups, paper bags, vodka, dishwashing items, toilet paper etc.…
Take on the duties of the Manger when they are not present.
• Sales and Marketing:
• Take part in tasting and specialty tasting events.
• Find opportunities to do winemakers dinner and or private tastings.
• Monthly meetings with wine maker and general manager, to plan the month ahead. Wine releases, events, private tastings, pricing, and wine club
• Ensure team provides fast, friendly, and accurate service
• Ensure proper cash handling and deposit procedures are followed
• Ensure appropriate inventory and ordering systems are in place Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
• Possess a positive attitude and ethics which support our values and culture
• Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
• Must be available to work weekends and Holidays
