The Lazy Lizard Saloon in Ocotillo, Ca. opened in 1993 . The owners and partners were Shirley and George Williams and Rosemary and Larry Nolta. All the work to get it ready was done by local friends. We all lived in Ocotillo and decided the town needed a bar. So we put our heads together and came up with a plan. It is now celebrating its 25th Anniversary. George built the bar and a lot of work was done by Doug Mitchell who is also a local friend.. The Lizard on the building was painted by one of Georges Customs buddies and is under copyright.. Rose worked at the Desert Kitchen during the day and Larry worked at Plaster City.George worked for US Customs so Shirley opened the bar and did all the ordering and tended bar. More to come later as I recall the past history. Lots of pictures to come also as I dig them out.
