As we’re sure many of you have heard through the grapevine… the time has come for Aelred & Bernie to retire.

We have attempted to create a little bit of Ireland here in Oconomowoc with a particular reflection on our family background and heritage in Sligo, our hometown on the Northwest coast of Ireland. Main Street will be passed on to new owners next month, and after 30 years in the restaurant business, and 20 in Oconomowoc, it’s time for us to take a break! The Pub broke a lot of new ground in Oconomow
oc back in 2001…
* 1st Irish restaurant in Oconomowoc
* 1st fully non-smoking restaurant in Oconomowoc
* 1st farm-to-table restaurant in Oconomowoc
Closing our doors in 2021, The Pub is the longest-running independent full-service restaurant in Oconomowoc, Aelred & Bernie have been the owner/operators for the past two decades! Thank you all for your love, support, friendship, and patronage these past 20 years. While it’s the end of the road for The Pub, it’s not the end of the road for our friendships with you all!

We are not taking any to-go orders this evening. Dine-in will be by walk-in only, please expect a significant wait. We've had an extremely busy week, so can not guarantee we have enough food to last the evening. Beer selection is also limited as we are running down our inventory.
Thank you for your understanding, and thanks for your continued patronage!

Here's the menu for our last few nights at The Pub. Please note, we are winding down our inventory, so this menu is subject to change and availability. Our final service will be Friday, May 14th.
We are not accepting any reservations this week.
We will be open on Saturday, May 15th, for drinks only so Aelred can be out of the kitchen.
Thank you all for your love, support, friendship, and patronage these past 20 years. While it’s the end of the road for The Pub, it’s not the end of the road for our friendships with you all!

In 2001 we opened the doors of The Pub in downtown Oconomowoc, bringing the first Irish restaurant to the area. We have evolved over the years, and while we still offer some of our original signature dishes, we've incorporated many diverse and contemporary dishes to the menu. We are now so much more than just an Irish Pub!
We endeavor to make you feel welcome and relaxed in our establishment. Our quaint and quiet bar features perhaps the widest range of Irish Whiskeys and Scotches in the area - 75 to be precise. 14 tap beers served in 20oz pint glasses (standard pints are only 16oz) and a large selection of wines. Some may wonder where the tv is... we've purposefully never had a tv in The Pub, which is a reflection of our home in Ireland, where pubs are predominantly for socialising, chatting with your friends, and getting to know people in your community. We're always delighted when new friends can say 'It all began at The Pub.'
The Pub was built in 1892, and we've taken great care to highlight some of the building's original features in the rich yet modern atmosphere of our dining room. These original features include the tin ceiling, maple floor and exposed cream city brick wall. Add to this the minimal but rich artwork along with one of a kind hand crafted pieces for an interesting visual experience.
We take pride in preparing our food from scratch in-house, and use local organic produce as much as possible. We have worked with Serenity Farms and Koepke Family Cheese here in Oconomowoc for many years as well as partonizing the local farmer's market. We use only high-quality meats and fish in our dishes, and all our desserts are crafted using the finest ingredients and made in-house. The Pub offers some old world staples along with exciting modern flavored dishes.
It is our hope that you will visit us soon and that when you do, that your will enjoy your experience with us, whether it's in the bar or dining room... or both!
