🛟 Public Service Message 🛟

The emergency services of Oak Island are requesting the public to kindly avoid positioning your beach setups in the emergency access locations throughout the Island.

Pictured here is 49th street access, the primary access for emergency Ocean Rescue jet ski and Water Rescue boat launches.

Blocking this causes extensive delay in moving your camp when minutes matter in a successful rescue.

Please keep these accesses open throughout the island. They are all conspicuously marked with signage.

There was an awful accident involving a motorcyclist today in front of our restaurant. Accidents are always terrifying and we hope the gentleman driving has a super speedy recovery!

With that, I just want to say how proud I am of my team. Within seconds they were running to the scene to help check on this man. They are so selfless, compassionate and willing to help anyone. I am forever grateful. 🥹

Please everyone, slow down and look twice. “Look twice, save a life”. OKI Drive is becoming increasingly busy so please just be patient and stay vigilant.
