The Oak Leaf Festival started many years ago as a 3 day event with a handful of vendors. Today the festival includes many more activities. The main event of the Oak Leaf Festival is always the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. Live entertainment, nearly 100 vendors and a parade highlight a community filled with pride in some of the most beautiful surroundings you will ever see!

WE NEED YOUR HELP — LET’S GROW GRANDPARENTS DAY!

For those of you who missed it, we celebrated Grandparents Day a little early at the Oak Leaf Festival and crowned our Grandmother and Grandfather of the Year! 👑❤️

But we want to talk about something else…

We REALLY want to grow our Grandparents Day celebration! And there’s a pretty special reason why — the founder of Grandparents Day is from right here in Oak Hill! ❤️

This year, we tried to make the celebration special for families. We had:
🌹 Roses for children to give to their grandparents
💌 A table where kids could make cards for their grandparents
📸 A photo area to capture some memories
👑 And, of course, our Grandmother and Grandfather of the Year crowning!

But honestly… attendance was still pretty low.

And we want to change that.

So we're asking YOU — our community — for some ideas. 👇

Why do you think attendance was low?

Was 1:00 PM on Sunday not a good time?
Should we have more activities for the kids?
More activities specifically for grandparents?
Food? Music? Games?
Should we make it part of another bigger event?
Or is there something we're completely missing?

There are no bad ideas! We want to hear the honest truth — what would make YOU want to bring your grandparents, your grandchildren, or your whole family out to celebrate?
